Dr. Roy Chan obtained his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and his Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Psychology from the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York. Dr. Roy adopts a psychodynamic orientation towards individual and group therapy. His interests lie in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), depression and anxiety in individual settings. In Hong Kong, Dr. Roy has worked with multidisciplinary teams in a private children’s centre conducting full battery psychological assessments. Within the international school community in both Hong Kong and China, he has been leading and guiding school shadowing, conducting in-class observations, and chairing parent and teacher meetings to ensure consistency of care. Hailing from Singapore, Roy started his career as an autism therapist at St. Andrew’s Autism Centre in Singapore and worked with the ASD population for the past 8 years. His doctoral dissertation is titled the Cultural Narratives Behind Parental Choice of Treatment for their Child with ASD.
He is available for consultation, clinical assessments, child and adolescent therapy, parental and family therapy, supervision and training.
